First Presbyterian Church is a loving, caring, Christian church family. As a family of Jesus Christ, we cherish and embrace the joy of serving our Lord. Are you looking for a new church family or never been a part of a church family before? Come and discover what God has to offer at FPC.
WORKING TOGETHER IN MINISTRY:
As a family of faith, we work together to share our faith and communicate the love and joy of being a follower of Christ. We send relief packages to our soldiers overseas, sharing our gratitude and love for their great effort and sacrifice. We participate in BackPack Pals, which is a ministry that provides food to elementary school children to eat on the weekends when they are not in school. We pray for those who are not members of our church, because we are all members of God's family. We participate in community events like the Lenten, Easter sunrise, and Thanksgiving services. We are always looking for God calling us in new directions.
GROWING OUR FAITH:
At FPC, we grow our faith through traditional events like worship and Sunday school, as well as with study and fellowship in programs and classes designed to encourage participation from all ages.
We participate in Bible studies throughout the year, which includes reading from the Bible and study manual to prepare for the weekly group meeting filled with learning, reflection, eating, and laughter.
The Presbyterian Women are very active at FPC. They meet at 11 a.m. on first Thursday of each month for Circle, a time of study, reflection, discussion, and fellowship. The Ladies’ Lunch Bunch meets every third Thursday of the month to enjoy time together and to sample great food at our many local eateries.
We have a mid-week program called “What’s Up Wednesdays” for ages 4 through 6th grade that meets during the school year. This group meets at 5:30 for dinner then for a time of learning about God, working on crafts, and playing.
Our Youth Group for grades 7th – 12th, meets weekly during the school year as well. This group learns about God in a much more relaxed atmosphere. The youth discover that church is not only a safe place to learn about God and discover their faith, but that it's a place where they want to come and be involved. The mid-week and youth programs are made up of church members and those from other churches.
Do not be surprised when you are warmly greeted as you enter the doors if not sooner. If you are wanting to find a church where you can participate in the activities of the church, find the peace of Christ, as well as be challenged, come and check us out. You may soon realize the fit is just right, just like a favorite pair of shoes. With all of us working with God, we will continue to do amazing things for God’s people, and in so doing serve our Lord and Savior, with energy and enthusiasm. See you soon!
Grace and Peace,
